Arab Men and white teenagers?

I'm 15, and when I've been on holiday in Arab countries, notably Egypt, I have found that they are all extremely interested in me, despite the fact that they know my age. I wonder if it's because I have particularly pale skin, but I find it quite disturbing for these men to be leering over me. Does anyone know why this is?
