For those you you who know Ireland and The U.S. well...?

would you say that the two nations' respective cultures are "foreign" to one another.By foreign I mean notably different, for example beyond the cultural differences between Canadian and American culture. Both American and Irish cultures are largely Anglo and many Irish immigrants' brought their culture to The U.S. Would you say that two cultures are different enough to be foreign to each other?
