Help for playing (Blues) guitar one-handed?

As a stroke victim with minimal motor control on my right side, I've learned over the years to do many things one-handed (typing, shoe-lace-tying, etc.). I want nothing more than to learn to play blues guitar. I read anecdotal evidence of a one-handed player in Ted Gioia's book, "Delta Blues," where he gave an account of Skip James' recollection of a one-armed guitarist named One Armed Chief, who chorded with index and middle finger, and picked notes with his ring and little fingers. I've seen numerous examples of one-handed playing by guitarists of all genres--notably Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray Vaughan in the blues genre--but that skill is not intuitive (I've been trying for months). I have thought about finding a teacher, but I won't have the money for a teacher for at least four months. Can anyone offer help on this?
