I have a netbook that has Ubuntu on it. If the netbook originally came with XP does it need XP drivers?

Ok, I know the title is a little confusing so allow me to explain. I have a netbook that originally had xp installed on it. The hard drive got corrupted and I installed Ubuntu (its a form of Linux) on there. A lot of the key functions now dont work (most notably the sound keys) and I'm pretty sure I need to re install the drivers. I went onto the Asus website and they asked me what my os was. I said it was Linux and the only drivers it had was the bios drivers and the manual. Im wondering if I say that I have XP installed if it will give me the drivers i need.
