Why don't the Lakers hire Brian Shaw?

I think they are worried about a rookie head coach trying to manage a group of underachievers. They are all good players, but that team is full of guys with no heart and no desire. After Kobe and Fisher, there is nobody on that team that is self motivated or driven. You saw how they laid down and died in the Mavs series. It's like a fighter getting hit and deciding he doesn't want to fight anymore. Brian Shaw has been groomed and will make a great coach one day, but after the playoff failure the Lakers might feel the need to do something big. Aside from a trade, they can't really go and get any big name players so they may have to try and get a bigger name coach. I actually think a new coach like Shaw would be a good thing because he will be hungry and it might translate to the team. All that being said... I dont think there is even a basketball season next year so it wont matter.
